A stylised interpretation of a Persian carpet, the long embroidery threads covering almost 100% of the ground give a particularly luxurious feel to this fabric and bring a touch of luxe into a room.
An almost surreal adventure in design and technique, the motifs in this fabric are reminiscent of gouda cheese? Meccano? the moon……….? They add a wonderful and graphic surprise to a room.
Thick, craft like stitching brings depth to this graphic design -the tree like motif works well in a large drop and despite the three dimensionality of the embroidery the substantial ground ensures that it has a beautiful hang.
An allover embroidery based on a Javanese sarong pattern, I created this design as a contrast to the other more intricate embroidery designs.
